Strange

I am 37 today. It’s a unusual way to spend my birthday.
No presents needed, just a belated one please. I will never ever ask for anything else again. I promise.

Update: Had a scan and bloods this morning. The scan worried me. There’s one lead follicle and a few smaller ones. The doctor said Mr T [...]

Weds 28 (Day 6) & Thurs 29th (Day 7)

Had a scan yesterday, he found 3 follies on the left and “more” he said on the right. He didn’t take any measurements, but considering it’s only day 6 of stims, it wasn’t a surprise.
Wednesday meds:
300iu (4 amps) Fostimon injection (between 8 & 10 in the evening)
75 mg aspirin (after food in the morning)
Clexane 20mg injection (in [...]

Tuesday 27th January

Nothing much to report but I am recording stuff for prosperity.
Blood test as normal first thing but I also repeated my NK test. I guess this will show them whether I need IVIg or not. I am hoping that the immune treatment I did at the end of last year will still be working to [...]

Monday 26th January

These early mornings are tough! Usual 6.15 am train into London and waved bye to Mr BTC before heading to the blood clinic then TLC.An uneventful day on the treatment front, they called me at 11 am, which was early and told me to carry on the same dosage as yesterday (450 iu of Fostimon [...]

Sunday 25th January

Left the hotel at 8.15 am, bloods taken first and then to TLC for the scan. I was nervous in the waiting room, but felt a bit better when I started talking to one of the other girls. She gave me some useful tips on where to get my drugs the cheapest, and it was [...]

Saturday 24th January

We left the hotel at 7.45 am and made our way to the blood clinic…lather, rinse repeat, and over to TLC as usual. I collected more Fostimon and that meant we could leave. So we headed to a trendy breakfast bar in Ma.rylebone High S.treet and filled up on boiled eggs and orange juice.
We then [...]

Friday 23rd January

We got the 6 am train into the city (it’s a 1hr 15 min ride) and Mr BTC went off to his office (as he works in London) and I made my way to the blood testing clinic. It’s only day 2 and I have collapsed veins and look like I’d be good friends with [...]

Thursday 22nd January

We left home around 7.30 pm last Thursday night, I was so upset leaving. I think the whole thing was just overwhelming me, it just felt so scary. Having a treatment cycle near home is one thing but packing up in the space of a couple of hours and leaving home for up to 2 [...]

Leaving on a jet plane…well in a car actually

All my bags are packed, I’m ready to go……

Can you see those socks? They are (hopefully) my lucky socks and they were from my pal Helen. She wore these socks when she saw the 2 heartbeats of her gorgeous twins. I hope they bring me some luck.
So me and my lucky socks are riding out [...]

Bye

I’m off.
To Top London Clinic for 2 weeks. To have the last ever go at a baby that might have my curly hair and a wicked sense of humour!
I am so full of emotions, mainly sadness. I don’t want to pack up and leave my cat and home for so long. I know I will [...]
